  1. RCEMIP-II is a coordinated intercomparison of models configured to focus on "mock-Walker" simulations to investigate tropical convection and climate in an idealized setting. Unlike the first phase, which used uniform sea surface temperature (SST), RCEMIP-II introduces a prescribed sinusoidal SST pattern to resemble observed tropical circulations, allowing for the study of convective aggregation and its response to warming across various model types.
